Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

I think this article hits the nail on the head. I agree with everything in this article; children are too sheltered and spoiled these days, probably me included. In this new era we don't know how to work for things and we rely too much on technology. Kids should get out and make opportunities for themselves. As a child myself, I believe that you should go out and work to make the world a better place. The world isn't going to change to fit you, you have to change to fit the world.

What is a Public Service Announcement? If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?

A public service announcement is an announcement made by the media to alert the public of event or situation that they need everyone to know quickly. An example could be when you are watching television and a PSA for a tornado comes on the screen and alerts the public that they need to find safety. These could be used for bad or good situations.

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your life here at BVHS. What activities or clubs are you involved in? What year are you in school? What is your favorite class and/or teacher so far this year? What are you looking forward to this school year? Include some original photos from your phone if you can.

I am a junior at Blue Valley High School. I have played basketball and soccer all of my years so far and plan on continuing. I am in National Spanish Honors Society and plan on joining Mu Alpha Theta and maybe the prom committee. I am also involved in Relay for Life and plan on doing it again this year. I have loved Blue Valley High since I was a little girl and came up here for all of my brothers sporting events. My favorite class so far is AP Chemistry. I also love Mrs. Sieve she makes chemistry so much more fun to learn. I am looking forward to the basketball season and all the different activities that come throughout the school year, especially football games. Right now, I am managing boys soccer and it is so much fun! I wish I would have done it my first two years.

After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use."

In life there are going to be people that are similar and different from you. The way to live life is to live it the way you want it to be, not anyone else. You shouldn't change the way you live because someone told you it was wrong. You only get one lifetime and you should live with no regrets; so take advantage of your life and be who you want to be and do what you want to do. You can accomplish your dreams and change the world if you choose too. Who knows, the way you do things might inspire others to be themselves as well. You should never change for anyone other than yourself; do what you think is right, and be who you want to be. Everyone who is famous started out small, they just worked hard to get where they wanted to be. Work hard and pursue your dreams and nothing and nobody can stand in your way.
